"'Come apart and rest awhile', Jesus said to his disciples and still he invites us to find this rest in retreats.  We find new ways to pray: nurtured by nature, sitting in silence, struggling with inner conflicts, dancing with the Spirit.  Transformation happens."

While working as an R.N. in Labor & Delivery and in Psychiatry, Vivian earned her M.A. in Counseling Leadership from St. Mary's College, Moraga, CA and M.T.S. from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. She enjoyed wrapping her medical, psychological and theological studies and expertise in Expressive Art while working on a certificate in Person Centered Expressive Art Therapy, which she continues to use as Coordinator of Liturgical Dance at St. Joan of Arc Parish in San Ramon. She developed an Expressive Art program for psychiatric patients, has participated in various workshops using this medium and facilitated a weekend retreat, The Art of Expressive Prayer. Vivian grew up in Canada, has a strong background in Biblical Studies and is a 13 year old convert to the Catholic Church who loves the Eucharist and the Liturgy. She is in her second year of the Pierre Favre Program at the Jesuit Retreat Center.
