The Jesuit Retreat Center of Los Altos depends primarily
on God. God's grace fills the air we breathe, animates our
prayer, inspires our words.
But as God has shown us in Jesus Christ, we live in
an incarnational world, where a life of prayer-even Jesus'
life on earth-has to be worked out in a carpenter shop that
often needs sweeping, and in rooms that need heat and light,
and on stretches of lawn and gardens that need careful hoeing
and trimming.
